Shazia Hung Out To Dry?

Shazia Wahab

- Video: Watch Shazia's reaction

We couldn't believe it last night when Shazia became the second candidate to get fired. How did team leader Jenny manage to escape the boot?

This latest decision did make us wonder if Sir Alan is keeping in the candidates who would make a good apprentice or those who will make good TV over the coming weeks?

The latest task saw the teams set up rival laundrettes for the day. Pricing mix-ups and lost clothing meant that the sparks were flying in the cleaning establishments and at the end of the day the dirty linen was aired in the boardroom.

Raef was team leader in the victorious boys' team and managed to redeem himself after last week's task, which saw him almost face the axe. The split in the boys' camp is still very evident and noticeably Raef sent the more 'laddish' members of the team back to do all the hard work while himself, Kevin and Michael ('the toffs') rode around London in a taxi sipping lattes.

The losing girls' side, led by Jenny, had a disastrous week. Lindi and Jennifer decided to make up prices rather than doing any research and, as a result their pricing was either outrageously high (£5,000 to do a hotel's laundry) or ridiculously low (£15 to wash two loads of clothes from a fish restaurant).

However, both of them managed to avoid being taken into the boardroom to face Sir Alan - was it because they were favourites of team leader Jenny?

Lucinda certainly wasn't one of her favourites and it was hard not to feel sorry for her as bossy Jenny kept telling her to be quiet. Lucinda hasn't really shone so far in the series but her treatment this week did seem pretty harsh.

Sir Alan looked horrified when Jenny told Lucinda in the boardroom that she felt she had to breastfeed her during the task! It'll be very interesting to see how this pair get on over the coming weeks.

Shazia had been given the task of labelling the laundry given to the girls and therefore the blame lay with her when several items went missing. Yes, this was another disaster for her team but it did appear to be a genuine mistake on her part - and it was only one of a whole catalogue of errors. But Sir Alan didn't seem to see it that way and fired her.

We think that useless (and incredibly annoying) team leader Jenny should have been fired.

I totally agree. I cannot stand Jenny after this episode, she was a big fat bully and she was completely OTT in her putting down of Lucinda. Moreover, why on earth did she suddenly turn on Shazia like that - calling her a liar and a manipulator. I think it's the worst decision in the history of the Apprentice. And I do think that Sir Alan fires people according to which one will pull in ratings and make 'good' TV. Really very very disappointing indeed. The team leader should have been held accountable, it's not like Shazia left without telling anyone. The team leader should have allocated the task Shazia was doing to someone else when she left. Terrible. Shazia should have defended herself better.

Whilst I want to see Jenny gone, she will certainly prove interesting to watch. I can't see her surviving the boardroom any more times though. She is a vacuous (refer to sales team talk prior to task) bully who is incapable of taking criticism or responsibility

I agree. Jenny's leadership left a lot to be desired and her treatment of particularly Lucinda was atrocious. It certainly didn't do anything for morale. Also, she was in charge and she decided to send Shazia back to the house to do the ironing. Something all of them could have done when going back together. They would have been better of working as a team in the launderette until the end. Jenny should have gone!

I can't believe Jenny didn't get fired! She created so much friction in the team, and comes across as an unkind person. I think we'll be seeing alot more of Lucinda, maybe even into the last few weeks - she seems like a very competent businesswoman.

The love child of Bianca Jackson and Jimmy Hill (ie Jenny) should have gone. Repulsive woman.

Couldn't agree more Jenny should have been the one to go. As a team leader myself I wouldn't dream of treating my team in such a way, where on earth are her people skills. I though Lucinda did very well to hold her head up in the face of such a dragon

I agree that Jenny was incredibly lucky to not get the axe, Shazia had stepped in efficiently to sort the batches and set up a system, the fact that she left to return to the house meant that the team leader should have ensured the system Shazia had set up was still followed, Shazia was definitely a scape goat in my opinion.
