Timmy Mallett

Ex-Dollar singer David Van Day and TV presenter Timmy Mallett are the latest stars to join ITV's I'm A Celebrity.

However, both stars got a shock when they were 'kidnapped' on their way into the jungle and they will now be held at ransom while the other campmates decide if they are willing to make sacrifices for their freedom.

Viewers of tonight's show will see the ten original celebrities faced with the decision of whether they will give up their own food and luxury items to stop the newcomers from going hungry.

So, who are these new 'celebrities'? Well, David Van Day first found fame in 80s pop duo Dollar with hits including Mirror Mirror and O L'amour. He was nicknamed David Burger Van Day after it was revealed he had set up a burger van business several years ago. Van Day is no stranger to reality TV and has appeared on Living TV's Pop Goes The Band and ITV's Reborn In The USA, in which he famously clashed with pop singer Sonia. Watch David in action...

Timmy Mallett is best known for presenting 1980s children's TV programme Wacaday which first featured the infamous Mallett's Mallet game in which he would hit unlucky contestants over the head with an oversized mallet. He also topped the charts in 1990 with a cover of Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini.

The presenter hit the headlines recently after The Sun revealed that his mallet had been stolen and launched an appeal for its safe return. Take a look at Mallett in action...

What are your thoughts on the latest celebrities to join the show? How do you think they will cope in the jungle? Let us know what you think...

ok i hope that this is read by the producers over in OZ. i hope to god that they are not bailed out or you will loose alot of the air time from the public. these are not celebrities and they only trying to make a come back after god knows how many years!!! its stupid and to be honest i think it will loose the plesure of the program. leave them there and bring someone else inn more young and full of life!!!.............thank you, if ithey stay, i wont watch, i never missed one but i keep my word and watch something else that i found!!

wierdly enough the last time i saw timmy mallet was in a jungle in north queensland about ten years ago;perhaps he's been there ever since-has he done any telly since then?does it sound like i know him?'no, i 'spotted' him as if he were an exotic rainforest creature.lets hope he can learn to live with humans again; what a coup for the programme

Hi there. Don,t know what every body else thinks but i think that the producers should think of a way to stop viewers picking the same celebrities to do trails all the time. We want to see others making a fool out of themselves. I love the show and watch all the time but it does get abit boring when it is the same celeb viewers need to have abit more imagination. The producers should make celeb exempt if they have done a trail the day before. TA TA

Lets hope David Van Day doesn't sing. He might get bit by a poisonous spider first by the grace of God.
