Timmy Mallett

Ex-Dollar singer David Van Day and TV presenter Timmy Mallett are the latest stars to join ITV's I'm A Celebrity.

However, both stars got a shock when they were 'kidnapped' on their way into the jungle and they will now be held at ransom while the other campmates decide if they are willing to make sacrifices for their freedom.

Viewers of tonight's show will see the ten original celebrities faced with the decision of whether they will give up their own food and luxury items to stop the newcomers from going hungry.

So, who are these new 'celebrities'? Well, David Van Day first found fame in 80s pop duo Dollar with hits including Mirror Mirror and O L'amour. He was nicknamed David Burger Van Day after it was revealed he had set up a burger van business several years ago. Van Day is no stranger to reality TV and has appeared on Living TV's Pop Goes The Band and ITV's Reborn In The USA, in which he famously clashed with pop singer Sonia. Watch David in action...

Timmy Mallett is best known for presenting 1980s children's TV programme Wacaday which first featured the infamous Mallett's Mallet game in which he would hit unlucky contestants over the head with an oversized mallet. He also topped the charts in 1990 with a cover of Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini.

The presenter hit the headlines recently after The Sun revealed that his mallet had been stolen and launched an appeal for its safe return. Take a look at Mallett in action...

What are your thoughts on the latest celebrities to join the show? How do you think they will cope in the jungle? Let us know what you think...

timmy mallett. now that's really taking the p*ss when describing someone as a 'celebrity'. using that logic Harold Shipman's a celeb. Actually. There's a thought. Get a shipman style, nice on the outside, twisted in the middle type person in there. I'd certainly become an avid viewer of a show where Z-rate 'celeb's' (or camera and cash wh*res) are slowly picked off, in stealthy but gruesome manners. Kind of like that film 'Saw' but with a point, and a posative outcome. How about 'I'm a celebrity, someone's poisened me, and now they're advancing on me with a pillow. Get me out of here'???

Lets get some REAL TV. Not this so-called reality garbage. Good scripts, directing, acting, lighting, editing and all that other stuff that programme directors now seem to hate in their ever-expanding search for something cheaper to make!
