Could X Factor reject Laura White be about to make a surprise return to the reality show?

Speculation of a comeback has intensified after the singer told a group of fans that they hadn't seen the last of her on X Factor.

Laura said: "Don't worry - I'm going back on the show" when cornered by some admirers in London earlier this week, reports The Sun.

The singer, who was one of the favourites to win this year's X Factor, was voted off Saturday night's show following a sing-off with Ruth Lorenzo.

Judge Louis Walsh had the deciding vote and his decision to get rid of Laura was blasted as tactical by her mentor Cheryl Cole.

More than 35,000 people have now signed a petition to have Laura reinstated in the competition - will X Factor bosses bend the rules and bring her back?

    yet again another show turning in to a farse she was voted in the bottom 2 by the public and the juges voted her off to me thats fair nothing against laura but what a carry on who will we be trying to get back on next week

    laura should definately not have gone out she is far better than some of the other contestants and should be brought back what was the public and louis thinking???

    I believe that the number of votes cast by us, the public, should be announced each week, so that we can see truthfully which contestant has least votes. I simply cannot believe that either Laura or Ruth had least votes last week . . . it's all a fix!
