The X Factor is once again at the centre of a controversial row over newspaper claims that Diana Vickers was well enough to appear on last Saturday night's show.
Viewers were told that Diana couldn't perform a song on 'Mariah week' because she was suffering from laryngitis, however, the Daily Mirror has a video of her sounding in good voice during Bonfire Night celebrations - just several days before the show.
This appears to contradict claims made during the programme that she first complained about her voice the pervious Sunday and missed rehearsals because she was confined to her bed all week.
Fans of the series are now speculating that the real reason she missed the show was because she would have struggled to perform a Mariah Carey song.
Diana automatically got through to this week's show while Laura White was voted off in one of the most controversial decisions in X Factor history.
More than 21,000 people have now signed a petition to bring back Laura to the contest. Laura was an early favourite to win the show and blamed her departure on newspaper stories about her lovelife along with tactical voting by the judges.

Laura should have NOT gone last week it`s just another way of the judges getting what they want yet again.

What goes for one should be good for the others. Either way Diana has a unique voice and has shown her talent and personally what went on last Saturday was a complete sham by voting off Laura.

So what if she got through? Give the girl a change and stop the jealousy for not reaching the heights when you were her age. This is no "Freedom" country anymore. It became a country of money chasers and witch hunters. You will never hear any good --- it is just the bad that gets attention. Makes me sick!
Posted by: pastornick on Wed Nov 12 12:32PM | Report abuseWhen X Factor showed the clip of the finalists at the bonfire, Diana could be heard speaking and SHOUTING in perfect voice, which I thought was suspect at the time. When she returns she should sing a Maria Carey song, if nothing else to quieten her critics. Personnally, I don't get her, she squeeks at the end of every line, and don't think she's a winner, but hey, I'm tone deaf.......lol

I really dont understand what everyone is raving about she has absolutely no personality and she did not perform that well Saturday thats why she was in the bottom two.
