The X Factor is once again at the centre of a controversial row over newspaper claims that Diana Vickers was well enough to appear on last Saturday night's show.
Viewers were told that Diana couldn't perform a song on 'Mariah week' because she was suffering from laryngitis, however, the Daily Mirror has a video of her sounding in good voice during Bonfire Night celebrations - just several days before the show.
This appears to contradict claims made during the programme that she first complained about her voice the pervious Sunday and missed rehearsals because she was confined to her bed all week.
Fans of the series are now speculating that the real reason she missed the show was because she would have struggled to perform a Mariah Carey song.
Diana automatically got through to this week's show while Laura White was voted off in one of the most controversial decisions in X Factor history.
More than 21,000 people have now signed a petition to bring back Laura to the contest. Laura was an early favourite to win the show and blamed her departure on newspaper stories about her lovelife along with tactical voting by the judges.

There shouldn't have been a vot this week!!!! Judger are far 2 tactical this season!!! It has put me off my favoite program!!! Weak!!!

Has the MOST annoying habit with her hand while she is trying to sing!! She should have been on the show on Saturday, and if she was as ill as everyone has been told, then the only fair thing to do was NOT have anyone leave on Saturday..Afterall when Laura first auditioned for the show, SHE genuinely had a bad throat, and yet the judges were entralled with her voice..So why didnt Diana perform?????

The judges like her so much they fixed it so she wouldnt have to sin There is no way she would of been able to sing in Mariah week because her voice is not strong enough. She isnt even that good a singer.
Posted by: alipurdham on Wed Nov 12 12:35PM | Report abuseOther contestants have had similar complaints over the weeks and have struggled to perform, personally I think if you cannot appear on a show then you should be eliminated as this could be an easy cop out if somebody does not like some kind of music. Diana needs to stop hiding behind the silly little girl image she is portraying and grow up and perhaps learn to move on the stage. I to think Laura should be re-instated for the reason I have given above for a 'no show' and because Lausa is fantastic.

If anyone should have to go then it should not have been a judges decision as they are opening out themselves for more criticism and god knows they get plenty of that. the decision should if at all been made on the publics vote, and Laura Should be allowed to return and given another chance the only reason that Ruth got through was her spanish looks.
