X Factor's Diana in fix row

Diana Vickers

The X Factor is once again at the centre of a controversial row over newspaper claims that Diana Vickers was well enough to appear on last Saturday night's show.

Viewers were told that Diana couldn't perform a song on 'Mariah week' because she was suffering from laryngitis, however, the Daily Mirror has a video of her sounding in good voice during Bonfire Night celebrations - just several days before the show.

This appears to contradict claims made during the programme that she first complained about her voice the pervious Sunday and missed rehearsals because she was confined to her bed all week.

Fans of the series are now speculating that the real reason she missed the show was because she would have struggled to perform a Mariah Carey song.

Diana automatically got through to this week's show while Laura White was voted off in one of the most controversial decisions in X Factor history.

More than 21,000 people have now signed a petition to bring back Laura to the contest. Laura was an early favourite to win the show and blamed her departure on newspaper stories about her lovelife along with tactical voting by the judges.

What do you think of the claims about Diana? Do you think Laura should get another chance? Let us know what you think...

'Tabloid' says it all. You really can't believe a thing they say - but what you can do is vote... if you don't believe that Diana was ill, don't vote for her - ever again. If you think she was, carry on voting regardless. As for Laura... no she didn't deserve to go, but we, the Great British public put her in the bottom two for failing to vote for her. The judges can only work with what we give them. And remember - at the end of the day - it is only a TV show made for our entertainment. It's not going to change the world!

Diana must have been ill because she would have loved to perform if she could have! she had nothing to worry about with much weaker singers than her. the voting system is bemusing and again why on earth can we not be told exactly how many votes each contestant received, surely they should be seen to keep themselves cleaner than clean at the moment!!

Diana should not have had a 'buy' through to next week's vote, Laura's first performance with the piano was a joke; her voice was weak & the piano kept playing when she walked away from it and I am fed up with Dannii being upstaged & @#$%ed about in the press and on the show. She was always going to get the 'weaker' group and now even Simon seems to have taken his support away - perhaps this is why cringy Daniel is getting the votes? Ruth was the better singer on the night and deserved to stay (between her & Laura) but the best thing would have been to evict two the following week. The worst performer however was Mariah Carey - she was just like a Tailor's Dummy!!!!

I think that it was a disgrace that Laura was voted off the show last week. That girl has oodles of talent. I don't think that the judges should be allowed vote as they always vote for their own - regardless of the talent. Don't wish to comment on Diana Vickers - the video footage screened showed that she was in no fit state to perform.

Surprise surprise! The X Factor fixed? Never! Like Leona Lewis and Shayne Ward Diana Vickers can sing, let there be no doubt about that. However The X Factor is simply a publicity vehicle for an act that will have more than likely been singled out for a record deal years ago. Of course this does not stop thousands of sheep-like followers from watching or auditioning.

It's all rubbish - Laura should have won and I was so shocked when she got evicted. It was a case of tactical voting, and this has proved that Simon Cowell always has a winner in mind weeks before the final - basically whoever he thinks will make the most £££ !!! Talent has nothing to do with it. Laura will be back with a record deal and she will be a huge success!

girl is very talented, i dont trust the phone voting, too many mistakes across TV voting right now to trust if the outcome is either the public vote or a computer error
