And then there were three...

So, it's back to the canteen for Nikki after the Brummie dinner-lady was voted off The X Factor in Saturday night's shock result.

Despite having a great voice, Nikki has suffered a similar fate to series one's Rowetta and series two's Brenda as it seems that that more mature female singers just don't have the same appeal to X Factor voters as younger acts and male vocalists.

It's also possible that viewers were fed up with the sob story that each week accompanied Nikki's performance. The producers seemed intent on constantly bringing up the story about how she applied to be on the show after her father sent off for an application form shortly before his death. In a year which has been notable for more X Factor sob stories rather than talented performers , enough is enough.

So that leaves us with the three finalists...

Leon - what on earth is he still doing on the show? He seems like a lovely lad and he has a nice voice but he still looks terrified each time he performs. His dancing and interaction with the audience on Saturday night's show was uncomfortable viewing. He simply doesn't seem ready for pop stardom.

Same Difference - you already know that we are not massive fans of this pair, however, Simon Cowell is a clever man and, after the massive success of High School Musical, it's likely that he has a similar career path in mind for these two. Their corny stage productions each week have been a massive talking point (though not always for the right reasons!) but we couldn't imagine going to watch these two at Wembley Stadium - and surely that's what it's all about?

Rhydian - again, we would never have guessed Rhydian would go this far after his first audition but he has proved to be a likable performer during the series and he has obviously got an amazing talent. It does feel as though he has it in the bag already but nothing is ever certain on a series like The X Factor.

What do you think of the finalists and who do you want to win?

I want Leon to win. He is a natural talent and has remained unaffected. He just needs more support and professional training and he will become more confident. He could be in show business for a long time. He is also very cute and totally sincere. I think that the whole tear performance was masterminded for Same Difference because their position was precarious on Saturday. It was unbelievable and people should realise that they were going for the sympathy vote as their talent alone would not be enough. I also believe that the show has become so much of a set up - everything is rehearsed and done for effect, including all the antics of the judges, just to make good entertainment.

I thought the antics of same difference were sick if my son and daughter were like they are with each other I would be very worried. I thought Michael Buble being on the show got leon some votes and he has been crap has no personality no timing and deserved to go off in the earlier weeks.Nikki was great had a great voice and deserved at the very least to be in the final if over 25's aren't going to get a fair crack then why have them in in the first place? The problem as I see it is with phone voting, theres no proof who got what vote.I think that there should be an impartial panel who get to vote this would make the show much much fairer and would hopefully see acts like Leons voted off when he deserved to be off the show.It makes my blood boil to see talentless individuals like him given the chance and others who deserved better to be voted off.Leon & SD deserve nothing and SD should be ashamed of themselves for doing what they did to get votes.Same Difference more like shame difference!!

This show is very unfair. Rhydian has had 5 years of classical baritone singing lessons, which gives him an unfair advantage against anyone who hasn't. Genuine people with no training, like Beverly and Nikki, are astounding, considering they have had no lessons, prior to the show. If anyone has had professional lessons in singing, dancing or anything else which could help them win the show, then it should be declared and the voting public should be informed of this, to enable them to make a fully informed decision. Especially as it costs money to vote and people might vote differently, if the full circumstances were known. I want anyone with a genuine talent, who is willing to learn and remain grounded and thankful for the opportunity, to win.
