After an epic 22 weeks and much fanfare, series one of cult hit Heroes bowed out on BBC2 last night with a double-bill finale.
Almost all of the leading characters were brought together for the final scene as their paths finally crossed in New York.
So, did it live up to the hype? Well, Nathan's last minute change of heart and decision to save New York, at the expense of his own life and his brother's, was certainly a shocker. Hiro finally plucked up the courage to 'finish off' the evil Sylar - though eagle-eyed viewers will have noticed that the serial killer had slithered off down a manhole cover during the show's final moments so I'm suspecting we haven't seen the last of him.
After 'volume one' drew to a close we were treated to a peek at 'volume two' which saw Hiro find himself in the 17th century - is it just me or does this not bode well for the second series, which is due on BBC2 next year?
What were your thoughts on the finale?

Heroes is amazing, can't wait for series 2 and I will keep my eyes shut if I see any spoilers!! Have a look at bbc.co.uk/2dimensions as well for some great short videos of Claire, Peter ,Nathan and Mr Bennet !

Having said that it was good 'easy' watching and very entertaining. I find Heroes Unmasked quite inrritating and patronising so very rarely watch it. I'm not sure if I'll watch Series II with the same level of dedication?!!
Posted by: angelabradding on Thu Dec 06 05:59PM | Report abuseThought this series really rocked, I cant wait for the next one to start. Think Hiro in the 17th century looks interesting! what of the other characters I wonder if they will end up somewhere different!
Posted by: m.beckettmurray on Thu Dec 06 06:22PM | Report abuseAfter a sceptical introduction to HEROES, i really found myself captivated by some of the characters. The storyline did lack a certain something but the pros definitely outwieghed the cons for me. Hiro Nakamura was without doubt my favourite character - look forward to more of him in the 2nd series. I found the finale a bit disappointing and lame to be honest, but i will certainly be tuning in to see if the next series grabs my attention. As a finishing comment / suggestion - please can somebody get a few of the cast some decent acting lessons!!

Posted by: jonandroisin on Thu Dec 06 06:59PM | Report abuseThe concluding episode was very weak. After a fantastic build up which managed to suck you in over the episodes the last episode was weak, a real disappointment. With the second series really faltering in the US (writers strike means only six episodes have been written and screened) the critics over there are absolutely panning the series. It maybe looks like they should have had a reservoir dogs finale. killed everyone in the last episode and called it a day !!!

Expected far more from Sylar at the end, why collect all those powers without wasting a few more of the wimps in the finale. Hiro my favourite, cool to the end, Samuri kicking butt in the next series please. Is Sylar behind one of those masks? Work friend already into next series, and she is in awe. She is under strict orders not to tell me about it.
