It was like the 1989 Brit Awards all over again on last night's Celebrity Wife Swap - but this time the other half of Samantha Fox's uncomfortable double-act was Freddie Starr.
Just like Sam's infamous pairing with Mick Fleetwood, this was painful viewing. Freddie Starr came across as old-fashioned and incredibly bitter, while an archive clip of him dressed as Hitler on The Des O'Connor Show in the '80s reminded us of his 'hilarious' past. Hmmm... makes you wonder why he doesn't get many prime-time slots these days.
An angry Freddie branded Sam a 'big mouth' when she suggested that he do his share of the cooking and childminding.
When it later emerged that his wife had written in a manual for the show that he liked to sit and watch TV while she did all the cooking, he was on the verge of threatening her with divorce.
At the end of the show Sam was delighted to get back to her partner Myra, while it looked like Freddie and his wife Donna had some talking to do.
Is it just me or is Wife Swap, even the celebrity editions, just a bit too predictable these days?
