Peggy and Archie in EastEnders

This week, Archie attempts to burn down the Queen Vic in EastEnders, Laurel catches fire at the village festivities in Emmerdale and Roy tells Hayley about Tony's confession in Coronation Street.

EastEnders

Walford's very own panto villain Archie is still trying to destroy the Mitchells and this week attempts to burn down the Queen Vic.

He enlists the help of Janine once again in his plan and the pair plot to torch the boozer and pin the blame on Billy.

Janine decides to pull out at the last minute after she has second thoughts about setting up Billy for the arson attack. Perhaps she has a heart after all?

Determined Archie sets off to the pub on his own where he lights a fire using some paper and then pours on some spirits for good measure.

However, he gets the shock of his life when Peggy hears a noise and discovers him in the pub's cellar. Archie tries to talk his way out of the situation and what happens next may surprise a lot of people...

Also this week, Christian confronts the blackmailer and Lucas has a proposal for Denise.

Emmerdale

The fire theme continues in Emmerdale - well, it is bonfire night this week after all - when Laurel finds herself in grave danger at the village celebrations.

Everyone is enjoying themselves at the bonfire when the vicar's wife accidently catches fire when an ember lands on her coat.

The sinister Sally sees the incident but decides to stay quiet rather than shouting for help.

It's Marlon who then spots that Laurel has gone up in flames and he immediately calls out to let her know what is happening.

Crafty Sally then sees an opportunity to win points from Ashley and races to Laurel's aid, throwing her coat over her to put the flames out.

But as Laurel recovers back at home, what she doesn't realise is that Sally is already hatching further ways to come between the couple...

Also this week, David is shocked by Leyla's response when he asks her to marry him and are Marlon and Moira about to become more than just friends?

Coronation Street

Roy has a difficult decision to make this week following Tony's shock confession.

The cafe boss decides to confide the revelation in wife Hayley and is shocked when she isn't convinced of the businessman's part in Liam's death.

Hayley reminds Roy that Tony was with Liam when he was knocked down by a hit-and-run driver, and also points out that the medication the factory boss received in the hospital may have affected his mind.

But Roy feels the right thing to do is tell the police what he knows and decides to call them...

Meanwhile, Joe proves his devotion to girlfriend Gail when he names his newly restored boat - wait for it - Gail Force! We're not sure we would be quite so thrilled as she is.

There's a further surprise in store for Gail when he gets down on one knee and proposes. A deathwish on his part if ever there was one! What will Gail say?

Also this week, Jake asks Michelle to move away with him and Ken's nose is put out of joint when Simon's other grandad turns up.
