The BBC is to move Strictly Come Dancing to a new time slot as the show continues to lose out to The X Factor in the ratings war.
From Saturday 31 October Strictly will move to the earlier time of 6.50pm, giving it a headstart of 70 minutes on its ITV rival. The new time will reduce the overlap between the shows to just 45 minutes.
The current series of Strictly has averaged 7.8 million viewers, while The X Factor has pulled in a massive 10.9 million viewers on Saturday evenings.
On Sunday night, The X Factor's peak audience of 14.8 million viewers was higher than the number of people who watched last year's final.
However, the BBC has denied that the move has anything to do with The X Factor and said the programme is being rescheduled to make way for Jon Culshaw's new show.
An ITV source told The Sun: "It looks like they're running scared."
Are you pleased about Strictly's new time slot? Do you think the BBC should move it even earlier to avoid any clash at all with The X Factor? Let us know what you think...

I think you should not overlap with xfactor as there are many people that havent got a recorder and they miss out, I watch both by recording one.

Posted by: fcuk_manu on Thu Oct 22 12:16PM | Report abuseAre they moving Merlin forward too, or is it after Strictly now? Anyway, I'm glad of the reduction of the overlap, it means I might be able to watch a bit of X Factor now.
