X Factor judge Cheryl Cole will reportedly mime her debut single when she performs it on the show at the weekend.
The Girls Aloud singer, who releases her first solo album later this month, will sing only parts of the song live and her entire performance will be pre-recorded earlier in the day, reports the Daily Mail.
An X Factor insider told the paper: "Cheryl is the break-out star of Girls Aloud and there are big plans for her. Nobody - either on the X Factor nor her record label Polydor - wants to see her fail, which is why we thought it was better for Cheryl to mime her performance."
Yesterday it was confirmed that her performance would be pre-recorded ahead of the live results show to ensure she can 'fully continue with her judging commitments' on the programme.
However, anyone who remembers her performance, with the rest of Girls Aloud, on last year's series may question her real motives for not singing live. On that occasion a visibly nervous Cheryl struggled to hit the notes and fellow judge Simon Cowell jokingly called it 'a little bit pitchy' afterwards.
If Cheryl doesn't perform live on Sunday night's results show then surely it calls into question her merits as a judge on the talent show? How can someone sit and judge other act's live performances week after week if they are unwilling to put themselves in the spotlight to promote their own song?

Yes she should sing livee she does not sit there and judge contestants on their signing when she is going to mime its just not right! MAKE HER SING LIVE!

I do like Cheryl as a TV personality, she's a very nice girl and is extremely beautiful but I'm afraid if it wasn't for her looks she never would have got into Girls Aloud, her voice is pretty weak. If she looked like the back end of a bus with a voice like hers she'd have no career in music. Sad but true, the industry is just beyond superficial.
