Tanya and Ian in EastEnders

This week, a wife swapping experiment goes horribly wrong in EastEnders, Michelle and Rosie fight on the cobbles in Coronation Street and Debbie is stunned by Michael's confession in Emmerdale. Find out more...

EastEnders

We'd always assumed that they didn't watch much TV in soapland as you never see them settling down in front of the box, do you? But maybe we were wrong as this week four Walford residents embark on an experiment which they seem to have nicked from Channel 4's Wife Swap.

The Beales and the Brannings are the guinea pigs in this particular experiment as the couples swap partners (no, not like that) to find out just how the other half live.

You may (or may not) be surprised to hear that things don't go smoothly. It's offspring Lauren and Peter who cause the trouble when Jane finds out they are planning to sleep together and advises Lauren to use protection. Max is horrified when he hears the advice she has been dishing out and tells Peter to stay away from his daughter.

There is further trouble in store when Ian drunkenly gets into bed with Tanya - after mistakenly thinking she is sleeping downstairs on the sofa. A likely story! Will things ever be the same again after this swap?

Also this week, Bradley proposes to Syd and Archie plans to take over the Queen Vic.

Coronation Street

We have to admit that we love it when the women of Coronation Street fight on the cobbles so are looking forward to a showdown between Rosie and Michelle this week.

Poor deluded Rosie has been kidding herself for weeks that Luke's feelings for her are genuine even though we know that he's only after her for her money. With Luke's ex Michelle back in Weatherfield,
the couple's days together are numbered so it's a surprise at the start of the week when Luke asks Rosie to move in.

It turns out his offer is simply a gesture to calm Rosie down following her disappointment after her fashion designs are rejected at the factory. Several days later she is humiliated when he dumps her in front of everyone in the Rover's.

Never one to go quietly, Rosie swears revenge and picks a fight with Michelle at Jason and Tina's flatwarming party. Big mistake! Michelle is more than a match for Rosie and she finds herself chucked out on the street. Will Rosie accept that things are over between her and Luke?

Also this week, Norris gets a shock when he sorts through Ramsay's possessions and, amazingly, David has found himself a new love interest!

Emmerdale

Debbie gets a shock this week when on-off boyfriend Michael tells her he's engaged to someone else.

When Michael first reappears in the village, Debbie's ever-protective dad Cain wastes no time in roughing him up and telling him to keep out of his daughter's life (and Cain doesn't even know he's engaged at this point!)

Debbie is angry when she hears what her father's done, however, when Michael arrives to see her they end up rowing and in the heat of the moment Debbie reveals she has fallen for him - and he tells her he is getting married. Er, not quite the response she was after then!

At this point you would probably expect Debbie to walk (or even run) away from the relationship but no. Instead, she tells him that he must choose once and for all between her and his fiancee.

Who will he choose and how will Cain react when he finds out this latest bombshell?

Also this week, Paddy's friends rally round to help him get over Chas's betrayal and Katie gets together with Ryan.
