Strictly's back! Who will be first out?

Stictly Come Dancing's Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly

After what feels like one of the longest build-ups in TV history, Strictly Come Dancing finally returns to our screens tonight (8.30pm, BBC One).

The new series of the dance extravaganza kicks off with two 90 minute specials that will see the first eight celebrities and their partners dancing a Tango or Waltz tonight, followed by a Cha Cha Cha or a Rumba tomorrow evening.

So, first up we have Joe Calzaghe, Lynda Bellingham, Martina Hingis, Ricky Groves, Jade Johnson, Ali Bastian, Chris Hollins and Rav Wilding.

The bad news for Loose Women's Lynda is that she is the hot favourite to be booted off, however, EastEnders' Ricky Groves is a close second to be first out. And this is before we've seen them dance a step!

Boxer Joe Calzaghe remains the firm favourite to win the series, however, reports earlier this week suggest that he may struggle in the first two shows due to a knee injury.

There will also be a chance to see the remaining eight celebrities in action when they appear to form a Mambo routine on the show. Insider gossip suggests that Jo Wood is the one to watch out for among this lot - for all the wrong reasons! So keep your eyes peeled.

Are you looking forward to the new series tonight? Maybe you are planning a Strictly party? Who do you think will be first out? We want to hear what you think...

Who cares. I shall NOT be watching. I do not subscribe to the BBC's very mistaken idea that the "public" prefer to see youth and looks over listening to age and experience. I predict that this series of 'Strictly' will be a dismal failure in the so-called ratings. Alesha Dixon, I believe you have made the worst career move of your life.
