Big Brother 10 winner Sophie Reade

Last night’s Big Brother final ended predictably with Sophie Reade winning with 74% of the final vote. The busty model had been the favourite to scoop the prize money all week, yet she seemed to be the only person surprised by the outcome – we certainly weren’t.

Disappointingly, the winner received the shortest eviction interview of the final five from Davina, which was a poor show for the viewing public. Later in the evening, away from the crowds, the press got to grill the winner about her relationship with Kris – questions she dodged like a pro as it is more than likely the juicy bits are being saved for a magazine deal (which may be needed following her promise to donate a cut of the £71,000 prize money to her fellow housemates).

Siavash had gained back some fans in the final week, but could still do no better than second place. The 'fashion victim' seemed genuinely gutted to have not won, after ‘game-playing’ his way through to the end of this series. He seemed to be unclear as to his relationship status, but he finally came to the conclusion that he was single – unsurprising really after he shamed his girlfriend on national TV after falling under Noirin’s spell.

David did well to come in third place, with Charlie in fourth and Rodrigo fifth, who all left to mixture of cheers and boos from the crowd. The rest of the housemates from this year’s series were also there much to the displeasure of the crowd – with Marcus and Lisa getting the best reception of the night.

Marcus, the self proclaimed 'irrepressible dark horse” had a message for Calendar of Digital Spy – calling him an idiot live on stage. This was part of an ongoing spat over whether or not Marcus was the real deal on Twitter, after he failed to name-drop Calendar on an episode of BBLB.

So, Series 10 is finally over, with only one more series to come plus celeb BB this January. Housemates didn’t seem too surprised or bothered at the news that Channel 4 had axed the show. We hope that the final series returns to its winning ways - less forced and with the ‘back-to-basics’ approach that made the original shows so popular.
