Boxing champion Joe Calzaghe blasted reality TV shows only weeks before signing up for the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The boxer, who has emerged as the 5/1 favourite to win, made the comments during an interview with a Welsh TV channel earlier this year, reports The Sun.

When he was asked if he would consider doing a 'silly' reality show, he said: "I'm not doing that s***, no chance mate. Nothing is going to get me doing anything like that, I promise you.

"If you ever see me on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! or anything like that you can track me down and shoot me in the head."

What a difference a couple of months can make!

Early betting odds on the series suggests that Joe's biggest competition will come from TV presenter Rav Wilding and Hollyoaks' actor Ricky Whittle, who both have odds of 6/1 to win the series. Loose Women star Lynda Bellingham is the outsider at 50/1.
