Arlene 'snubs' BBC

Former Strictly Come Dancing judge, Arlene Phillips has reportedly snubbed the BBC’s offer of a regular appearance on The One Show as their Strictly expert.

The 66-year-old has had a tough time of it lately after being axed as the regular judge on the hit dancing show to make way for 30-year-old Alesha Dixon. Now it seems Arlene is in two minds about whether to join the channel again after other offers have been 'flooding' in.

An inside source told The News of the World, "Arlene has made no commitment to the BBC. They've been desperate to sign her up to do a Strictly commentary spot on The One Show and Breakfast.

"But she's considering her future and a lot of new TV offers - including ITV shows - that have been flooding in now people know she's back on the market."

Could those new offers include a regular spot on the GMTV sofa? The Daily Mail are reporting Phillips is being lined up to judge the ITV morning show’s new X-Factor style talent search for families, 'The No.1 Family'. A source at GMTV revealed "There are talks going on with Arlene about doing something with us in the autumn. Everyone here is very keen but it is early days."

    The Beeb were crazy to get rid of Arlene in the first place. They really have no idea sometimes, do they? Now that Arlene has gone all I can do is wish her luck. Strictly will never be the same again and I for one won't be watching!
