After only two years at the helm, Des O'Connor has announced he'll quit Countdown in November.
Des claims 'it's been a giggle since day one' but misses performing music and his entertainment chat show and wants go back to it. Whether the world has missed his music is the conundrum. Des is working on recording his 36th (!) Album as well as writing childrens stories and poems so will have plenty to keep himself busy.
We can't wait to see who will be the new face of the show. Des Lynam was considered last time round, also suggested have been Clive Anderson and Jeremy Paxman.
Who do you think should be the new host?
