Cheryl Cole will reportedly front the US version of The X Factor.
Simon Cowell is planning on taking the successful ITV show to the States and he wants Cheryl to have a starring role, reports the Daily Mirror.
A source told the paper: "He thinks she has amazing presence and her down-to-earth Northern charm will appeal to the American public. She is also an incredibly beautiful girl.
"She won't get paid anything like the million pound salary she's on here, because obviously she is not as well known in the States. But if it is a success, like most of Simon's shows are, it could catapult her into the big league."
It is believed that Simon himself will not appear on the series due to his American Idol deal with rival network Fox.
Senior executives from NBC, who are working on the US version of The X Factor, are said to be flying in to Manchester this weekend to watch Cheryl at work on the UK show.
Do you think Cheryl has what it takes to make it in the US? Will American viewers be able to understand her accent? Let us know what you think...

Posted by: grinsalot_67 on Fri Jul 03 01:29PM | Report abuseAt least she speaks English and is understood irrepective of the accent or dialect. I hate it when the medias put the U.S. on a pedastal, They are only the so called world number 1 at this or that because they buy everything, and people think they are so great. If they are so great how come they have different laws in each state, crossing a border based on cir@#$%stances can be a crime For gods sake don't you know they are ALWAYS right, so start looking into what makes them tick and their so called good life. They have more murders in one city alone in one year than England has had in 20 years. SO look at it realistically, it is not as how Hollywood makes it look/.
