Ugly Betty role for Susan Boyle

Britain's Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle is being lined up for a role in US series Ugly Betty.

The Scottish singer will play herself in a cameo role in the comedy, reports The Sun.

A source close to the star told the paper: "Susan has been bombarded with offers of work in America, but this is something she is really keen on and we hope to make happen."

Susan Boyle has already been name-dropped in US shows The Simpsons and South Park after her audition on the ITV reality series became a worldwide hit on Youtube.

A planned promotional trip to the US was put on hold last month after the singer reportedly had a breakdown after the Britain's Got Talent final.

Despite spending four days in the Priory, Susan has missed several dates on the show's spin-off tour.
