Return to the Dragon's Den

Dragon's Den

Tuesdays on BBC2 are brilliant. Paxman laughing at students on University Challenge, fast, fabulous cooking on Chinese Food Made Easy and best of all, the return of Dragon’s Den!

All the Dragons are back and it appears they’ve been briefed to be much meaner to each other this series. Deborah Meaden seems to have had some kind of makeover with a flicked-out blowdry and an orange tan, but this is business and the hair does flop to the helmet-like bob we know and love before the end of the show. Deb’s hair wasn’t the only flop on the show…

After a hard day of telly watching, I’m sure we’ve all thought we’d sleep much better at night if only we had a bed sheet with a line stitched down the middle.  Step forward Dragon’s Den hopefuls Jon and Ros, who gave one of the most cringeworthy pitches the Den has ever seen for a sheet to prevent partners arguing about who takes up most of the bed! I’m not sure what puritan world these two live in but I wouldn’t like to share a bed with someone who doesn’t appreciate a bit of a roll together. Rightly, the Dragons laughed them down the stairs.

Amazingly, the Dragons invested in two of the most unlikely businesses I’ve ever seen on the Den. Usually they favour things to do with yachting, gadgets and gimmicks but this time it’s a band and some human trees. Everyone was fighting to throw money at Hamfatter, an indie band with no new material and a terrible name! They teamed up with Peter Jones which will clearly add loads of street cred (not). The other successful team were D4M, an events business specialising in human trees and tables. Interesting that Deborah, the Dragon with the most experience in the area, refused to invest, while all the others were fighing to throw money at the very pretty twentysomething girls... interesting. Is this really the best you can do Dragons?

What did you think of the return to the Den? Would you have chosen differently? What would you pitch to the Dragons? Let us know...

Dragons Den is stale - a big ego trip. Only James Caan is genuine

Dragon's Den Monday's BBC 2 9pm...Great stuff! I love all of the dragons. I have to say am a bit disappointed with Deb's hair this series. I prefer the beautiful sleek bob she had before. What I have particularly noticed in this new show is that Peter Jone's face is now set in a perpetual sneer. It's wonderful.

Think Dragon's Den is the best thing on telly at the moment. Still watch the re-runs on Sky and even though i know who's in and who's not, i still enjoy watching it!
