An X Factor contestant has reportedly threatened to kill herself after failing an audition for the show.
The woman, who was in her 50s, became hysterical after getting a 'no' from all four judges at a recording in London earlier this week, reports The Sun.
A witness told the paper: "She ran off, shouting that she was going to commit suicide. The producers ran after her. An hour and a half later they were still making sure she was OK."
The distressed contestant visited the show's doctor the morning after her audition and they were satisfied that she was feeling better about the situation.
This is the first year that the X Factor production team have had a doctor on standby at the auditions. It's believed they decided to have a medic on the set following Susan Boyle's meltdown on Britain's Got Talent.
There is added pressure for this year's contestants as the auditions are being held in front of a live audience.
Do you think shows like The X Factor put hopefuls under too much pressure? Is enough being done to help those who don't make it through? Let us know what you think...

Posted by: c.macfarlane97 on Thu Jun 25 12:31PM | Report abuseGah all these shows are so stupid. They put people under far too much pressure and well frankly the majority of the people just have way too high an opinion of themselves, the sheer volume of people that go and make themselves look like a complete idiot, i think the lot should be axed.
Posted by: lewiscooper89 on Thu Jun 25 12:32PM | Report abusethey shouldn't need help after being told no, at the end of the day it's not the end of the world, they don't want people for there talents anyway they want to make amug of you, they're just using you so they can get money the whole things pathetic. But yeah i do agree there is an awful lot of pressure put under people, but they know that before signing up.

Posted by: pro.sportservices on Thu Jun 25 12:33PM | Report abuseHere goes the mollycuddling society again. These people are not forced to attend auditions. They have career ambitions which they choose to pursue in this way. I do not see that there is any obligations to them other then to see they are fairly treated during the auditions. Where will it end. No one forced Susan Boyle to either audition or to continue with the program where she felt it was too much for her. Do none of us have any responsibility for our actions anymore. Pass the buck on its always someone elses fault. It make me sick!!!
