It's a sad day for fans of chat shows everywhere with the news that ITV has reportedly binned off Katie And Peter: Unleashed.

According to The Sun, the show won't be returning to ITV2 in the Autumn after complaints from both viewers and guests.

Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger had said it was the most ridiculous show she had been on, while Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd said it was crude.

The series mixed a chat show format with behind-the-scenes footage of the pair preparing for the interviews and talking about their sex lives.

Despite having their chat show canned, Katie and Peter are expected to continue to work with ITV as part of a golden handcuffs deal and a new fly-on-the-wall series is expected later this year.

    I have to be honest i love Katie and Peter but i too thought the programme was awful and they put their guests in some difficult situations.

    I ENJOYED KATIE + PETER THE NEXT CHAPTER ... ITV WILL HAVE TO PUT SOMETHING MUCH MUCH BETTER ON TO TAKE OVER FROM THEM ...

    Shows like this do not credit the public with any intelligence so I'm happy to see it go. Let's hope the replacement isn't so trashy.

    love the show have watched all didnt rate the chat show. but jordan on her 30th was ridi@#$%us the way she went on pete deserves better
