The Jeremy Kyle Show is the sort of programme which has viewers swearing at their TV - or maybe that's just us? But now it's been revealed that the programme accidentally broadcast an uncensored swearword earlier this year.
Several viewers complained to TV watchdog Ofcom after a Scottish guest on the show said to Kyle during a heated exchange "you'd get your **** kicked in". Charming.
The programme's producers have said that they failed to spot the obscenity due to the strength of the man's accent and only realised their mistake when a Scottish viewer got in touch with the show.
Ofcom found that ITV had broken broadcasting rules by airing the swearword and said: "We accept that the inclusion of the term was unintentional, and that the comment may not have been readily understood by some non-Scottish viewers, but ITV should ensure that inappropriate and offensive language is not broadcast before the watershed."
Did you see the offending programme? Would you have been outraged if you had seen it or do you accept it was a mistake?

First of all, you should all know that these so called Chat Shows are fake (or at least toned down), otherwise with the complexness of many of the situations there would be a hell of a lot more violence and swearing, wouldn't there? Also, in Scotland, c**t is no worse a word than s**t, at least it is less obscene there. I commend him for bringing life into a fascist chat show.We Scots will let others hear our opinions, no matter what the cost. Granted, the majority of guests on the show -no matter where they are from- are lower-class s@#$% who in a civilised society would have three options 1. Work and behave within the law 2. Go to prison 3. Be shot. They should not be allowed to claim benefits for doing sod all except making the UK worse to live in. And Kyle is not helping.

Posted by: bob.rogers2 on Wed Jul 16 07:02AM | Report abuseIt was just a mistake. It's not ITV's fault that they didn't realise it was a swear word. Scottish people do have a broad accent. It's one small little swear word that accidently got broadcasted. Who cares! It's just one little word!
Posted by: kirsty.macd63 on Wed Jul 16 11:49AM | Report abusei think it was a genuine mistake, i have watched this show for months on end and jeremy and the producer's would never have aired that particular show had they of been aware of this.
