Have your tissues at the ready for today's Neighbours as Harold Bishop bids farewell to Erinsborough after 16 years in the soap.
Harold first appeared on Ramsay Street back in 1987 when he became Mrs Mangel's lodger and it wasn't long before romance blossomed between him and gravel-voiced Madge Bishop.
The couple later married, however, there was heartbreak for Madge in 1991 when Harold was washed out to sea and presumed dead.
But in 1996 it was revealed that he was alive and well - it turned out he had suffered amnesia and had been living as a Salvation Army volunteer called Ted. Only in soapland!
Harold eventually got his memory back and was reunited with Madge until her death from cancer in 2001.
Since then he has suffered his fair share of heartache on the show and none more so than when his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter were killed in a plane crash in 2005. His daughter Kerry, of course, was accidentally shot dead during a hunting protest in 1990.
The death of Harold's family in the plane crash led to one of his most memorable moments on the show when he tried to strangle Paul Robinson, who he blamed for the disaster. Sadly he failed!
As the longest-serving current member of the Neighbours cast, Harold is certainly going to be missed. Will things ever be the same again in Erinsborough? Let us know what you think and tell us about your favourite Harold moments...
Watch his departure from Neighbours on Five at 1.45pm and again at 5.30pm

Affro Harold, that was a classic moment and from a character usually quite reserved

I do hope the storyline is twisted for you to stay. If you do really leave, just know that you touched not only my heart but the hearts of many people all over the world. You have been a grandfather, friend, father, brother and whatever and however anyone viewed you. Not an enemy even at such a time when you tried to kill Paul Robinson. You always represented justice and fairness even though it was soapland, and as a Christian, you managed in a way to portray the chiristian beliefs to an extent;showing everyone that prayer is the key, specially at such a time of political correctness. You will be missed and yes we will hold you dear in our hearts.Your adopted grandchild
