Lucinda 'too zany' for Sir Alan

Wed Jun 04 09:40PM by TV Editor

The Apprentice's Lucinda Ledgerwood

Lucinda lost out on a place in The Apprentice final this week after Sir Alan branded her 'too zany' to work for him and one of the other interviewers dismissed her as a 'nutcase'.

Sure, she was possibly the most eccentric candidate to ever take part in the show and she could have given Carrie Bradshaw a run for her money in the fashion (mi)stakes but that's hardly a reason to rule her out.

So, did she deserve a place in the final? Frankly, no. Firstly, it's become clear over the weeks that she is not a team player. Good team leader, yes - but she struggled to take orders from anyone else and proved to be very disruptive during tasks. Secondly, it did become apparent that she didn't really want the job (well, she did say it!) and it was more likely she took part in the show to to prove she could win it, rather than because she wanted to work for Sir Alan.

In a catastrophic move, she commented to the others outside the interview rooms that she felt that the job wasn't for her. Big mistake - especially when you have a snake like Alex listening. Alex wasted no time in mentioning her shock statement in the boardroom and from then on the writing was on the wall for Lucinda.

Lucinda's firing means that for the first time ever four candidates will take part in the final and, in another first, will work as two pairs - Alex and Helene v Lee and Claire.

So, who do you think will triumph? We think that Lee and Claire could nail this one. He's the grafter and she, most definitely, has the gift of the gab and is an excellent sales person. And with those two in the boardroom, we think that Claire will clinch the title.

What did you think of Lucinda's sacking? Was it fair? Do you think it's a good idea to have four candidates in the final? Who do you think will win? Let us know your thoughts...

salams, well, its been a good series as far as entertainment is concern, but other then that i think every body is a more show-off then any thing else, they all say, that they are good at it and good at that but when it comes to a crunch situation and simple things they miss out horrendously. i have a symphty for Helene as she seems to have worked hard all he life but she no better then any one else, Claire talks a lot but but most of it is french to me, Lee has a hope and Alex should think more then he thinks of his age.

Claire is rubbish and is just out for her 15mins of fame and not a job! Shes trying to be like the badger but hideous and arrogant and who pays her £85,000! She dresses like a tramp! Can't stand her and her stupid voice. Don't think any of them deserve to win as they are all crap and this show is losing credibility fast, its all done for tv ratings now and nothing else. Lucinda was the only good one left because she was different but they all have a game and they're all there to 'sell their stories' Like who cares.....!

If Sir Alan wants someone who is as ballsy as he is -then he should choose Claire-Frankly the rest are worthless-Lee lies & swears too much (he thinks it is clever) & frankly looks grubby-Alex is a snake and really not bright- public school or not .But Helen-well she might be the suprise in the end -Hopefully if the BBC do a 4th series -they will find better candidates -like the 1st year

I wanted Alex to win and thought he would until last night. Was poor and defensive under interview and a complete snake in the boardroom about Lucinda. Havent we all at some time wondered whether a job is right for us? Particularly after the grilling you get from AMS's henchmen. Lucinda was never going to win as it was not the right job for her but she was one of the most astute and bright people to have ever appeared. A breath of fresh air. So who will win? Lee and Claire should win the final. Question then is does he want rougn n willing lee or gobby and potentially disruptive Claire? History says he doesn't pick the one who may disrupt things too much, so I reckon Lee.

Lucinda has probably been the most intelligent we have seen in the series thus far. As for her being disruptive, it is absolute nonsense; the other candidates consistently chipped away at her and undermined her capabilities in an attempt to put her in a bad light. She is obviously already successful and it goes to show that no one needs to be a bully, sycophant or a cheat to do well for themselves.

Alan Sugar should not employ any of them. Claire, because she has a big mouth. Lee, because he lied on his CV and his spelling is atrocious. Alex, he is a snake as you said and who would he snitch on in the office? If he is the type of person edcuated in a private school then heaven help us. That leaves Helene-maybe she deserves it but is she really Alan Sugar material and you cannot always feel sorry for her poor upbringing.

People should get a life instead of watching reality TV.

Lucinda was the best candidate for this post. Why waste time on teamwork and who said teamwork is the only answer? Lucinda won most of the tasks assigned to her and this is what Sir Alan needs in his business- a winner not big mouth. Performance is the key. MC
