Lucinda lost out on a place in The Apprentice final this week after Sir Alan branded her 'too zany' to work for him and one of the other interviewers dismissed her as a 'nutcase'.
Sure, she was possibly the most eccentric candidate to ever take part in the show and she could have given Carrie Bradshaw a run for her money in the fashion (mi)stakes but that's hardly a reason to rule her out.
So, did she deserve a place in the final? Frankly, no. Firstly, it's become clear over the weeks that she is not a team player. Good team leader, yes - but she struggled to take orders from anyone else and proved to be very disruptive during tasks. Secondly, it did become apparent that she didn't really want the job (well, she did say it!) and it was more likely she took part in the show to to prove she could win it, rather than because she wanted to work for Sir Alan.
In a catastrophic move, she commented to the others outside the interview rooms that she felt that the job wasn't for her. Big mistake - especially when you have a snake like Alex listening. Alex wasted no time in mentioning her shock statement in the boardroom and from then on the writing was on the wall for Lucinda.
Lucinda's firing means that for the first time ever four candidates will take part in the final and, in another first, will work as two pairs - Alex and Helene v Lee and Claire.
So, who do you think will triumph? We think that Lee and Claire could nail this one. He's the grafter and she, most definitely, has the gift of the gab and is an excellent sales person. And with those two in the boardroom, we think that Claire will clinch the title.
What did you think of Lucinda's sacking? Was it fair? Do you think it's a good idea to have four candidates in the final? Who do you think will win? Let us know your thoughts...

I can't believe the interviewers rated Alex, he has no personality, interviewed terribly and has done nothing of any substance throughout the whole show. He huffed and puffed his way through last night and only stayed in the boardroom by being a tell tale. Tough one to call for Sir Alan next week, not sure who my money is on
Posted by: lynette.turnbull on Thu Jun 05 11:14AM | Report abuseLee should've been sacked instantly for lying on his CV. How could they have let him stay for the final? So lying to a potential employer is now accepted behaviour! His rudeness to Lucinda and Sara in the past also rankles, he is insecure around educated well mannered people and tries to bully them to feel in control.
Posted by: shrutirenjhen on Thu Jun 05 11:14AM | Report abuseThought Lee should have gone for telling untruths on his cv. No excuse for that. Alex far to weak, what has he done that's so great, also he's a childish telltale and to sly. Helene OK but the star is Claire. Lucinda should still be in. Thought Simon was the best candidate.
Posted by: juliatong1 on Thu Jun 05 11:14AM | Report abuseAlex is insecure and too defensive, using his age as an excuse if he doesn't do so well or to show "how good I am because I'm only 24". Lee shouldn't have lied on his CV, as now no-one knows if they can trust him, Claire is very good and so is Helene, though she should stop using the story about her childhood as that won't get her very far and with Sir Alan it won't help get her the job. Lucinda was irritating and SO patronising, like she was talking down to everyone all the time, including Sir Alan. She just seemed to sit there going "yes, but I'm great. I can do this. Everyone else is rubbish, and I can assure you I'll be good." whilst talking down to everyone. None of them are brilliant, and whoever said a shambles is right.
Posted by: rosie_ch15 on Thu Jun 05 11:15AM | Report abuseShocked Lucinda is out she was clearly the most intelligetn candidate! I can't beleive Alex stabbed her in the back. I hope Lee's past doesn't come back to haunt him (CV) Claire was spared which makes me think she is a potential winner as Sir Al is going soft. HelenE what has she done to be in the final.... £$%k all I hope Lee wins but think it will be claire or Alex
Posted by: sjaitchison on Thu Jun 05 11:15AM | Report abuseLucinda has been rightly sacked. An employer like Sir Alan, isnt interested in a girl hanging on his tail all the time to teach her. A good worker is both a good team leader and an equally good team player. She was childish in many episodes for trying to get the attention of the good looking guys around her rahter than helping one another to win the task. In one of the episodes for renting out cars, if she had concentrated in renting the cars out to the public rather than walk around teary eyed, the team could have had a bigger profit. The boys did really well, not to get dragged into her little time wasting talks and carry on without letting her get to them and thereby undermine their performance of the tasks.
Posted by: joy2c on Thu Jun 05 11:15AM | Report abusei would love Lee to win, he is so normal and a down 2 earth kinda guy. but i think either claire or alex will win, Sir alan has a soft spot for claire and Alex is sneaky enough to win, i mean look how he put lucinda on the spot last night! thank goodness Alex and Claire are on different team so at least there is fair competition. Lee to win!x

Posted by: kennethmusgrave on Thu Jun 05 11:16AM | Report abuseI fear that the 'snake' Alex will win. In some ways the final pairings are unfair as I think Claire will lose out as Lee looks as if he goes to pieces judging by the clips. Lee, by his own admission, has too much riding on this competition but I think we would serve Sir Alan well. By the way no-one has mentioned how rude Sir Alan is - would you want to work for him? Also he wants to silence the women. Claire does not talk more than anyone else, she just has an unfortunate monotone quality to her voice which is a bit droning. She is very capable though, and would need that 'skin like a rhinosaurus' to cope with Sir Alan's lack social skills.
Posted by: lindabritt on Thu Jun 05 11:16AM | Report abuseWhat astounds me is that this bunch of plonkers are all "earning" in excess of £100K already (or thereabouts). Seems like you only have to exist in some circles for idiots with other people's money to spend to lavish ludicrous incomes on you. I'm applying....
