Lucinda lost out on a place in The Apprentice final this week after Sir Alan branded her 'too zany' to work for him and one of the other interviewers dismissed her as a 'nutcase'.
Sure, she was possibly the most eccentric candidate to ever take part in the show and she could have given Carrie Bradshaw a run for her money in the fashion (mi)stakes but that's hardly a reason to rule her out.
So, did she deserve a place in the final? Frankly, no. Firstly, it's become clear over the weeks that she is not a team player. Good team leader, yes - but she struggled to take orders from anyone else and proved to be very disruptive during tasks. Secondly, it did become apparent that she didn't really want the job (well, she did say it!) and it was more likely she took part in the show to to prove she could win it, rather than because she wanted to work for Sir Alan.
In a catastrophic move, she commented to the others outside the interview rooms that she felt that the job wasn't for her. Big mistake - especially when you have a snake like Alex listening. Alex wasted no time in mentioning her shock statement in the boardroom and from then on the writing was on the wall for Lucinda.
Lucinda's firing means that for the first time ever four candidates will take part in the final and, in another first, will work as two pairs - Alex and Helene v Lee and Claire.
So, who do you think will triumph? We think that Lee and Claire could nail this one. He's the grafter and she, most definitely, has the gift of the gab and is an excellent sales person. And with those two in the boardroom, we think that Claire will clinch the title.
What did you think of Lucinda's sacking? Was it fair? Do you think it's a good idea to have four candidates in the final? Who do you think will win? Let us know your thoughts...

Lee to win
Posted by: alan.heywood3 on Thu Jun 05 11:10AM | Report abuseI personally wouldn't hire any of them that are left. Alex is too arrogant, Lee to thick, Claire to gobby and helene is to pull a sob story on everyone
Posted by: howardlawson on Thu Jun 05 11:10AM | Report abuseI dont think any of the candidates are upto the standard required in a big organisation. Not one of them has shown any man management skills and think the way to get on is by treating all staff like s--t, as for being team players none of them know what it means and are just out for themselves.I think Sir Alan will do better firing the lot of them and taking a trip to the local job centre.
Posted by: kenwilliamshome on Thu Jun 05 11:10AM | Report abuseAlthough "Too Zany", Lucinda has always been in a different league. Very glad for her sake she's out. She would have been so frustrated working in a boring environment. Absolutely can't stand Claire! I'm sure she will win. Sir Alan wants her to "Show Him The Money!!" (Materialistic B*%^"^ds!)
Posted by: boebels on Thu Jun 05 11:11AM | Report abuseI cant beleive that someone can lie on a CV be caught out and still remain in the competition. Mr 24 is far to devious for his own good Looks like one of the @#$% to me. However, based on everything I have learned in 30 years of business the none of them would qualify. The acceptance of lies just sends the signal that its OK, which is wrong and ethically unacceptable
Posted by: pcrty1 on Thu Jun 05 11:12AM | Report abuseHelene shoudl be burnt as a witch, im pretty sure i speak for a few people there. however if burning isnt an option a good dunking at a minimum, Alex or Claire should win, but Alex has been shafted already by being put with the evil Helene. The twisted biatch will do anything i reckon
Posted by: ctimander on Thu Jun 05 11:12AM | Report abuseI actually thought Lucinda appeared really well in her interviews, fair enough she did make that comment about not wanting the job but they are all there for the money and to win the show, so whats the prob. Alex was very sly in what he did which show a bad side of him, does Sir Alan wnat soem one like him...!!!! Lee should win, ok ok so he fibbed on his CV but who hasn't?
Posted by: zarah1932 on Thu Jun 05 11:12AM | Report abuseWhy wasn't Helen fired??? She's too boring and i can't rem wat she has done the whole time she has been there, She should have gone yesterday not lUcinda. In my opinon Lucinda shuld have stayed.
Posted by: rosyn_lilac on Thu Jun 05 11:13AM | Report abuseI think it is maybe a reflection of the way Alan Sugar runs his businesses that he prefers apprentices who lie, back stab and whinge and moan about everyday things rather than employ someone with morals and self discipline. Lee falsifying a CV and then carrying on the lie in interview is inexcusable, and to watch Alex crumble during the interviews only to hear how well he performed at the debrief amazed me. There is clearly some underlying brief for the apprentice that the viewing public are not party to.
Posted by: andrewdewhurst84 on Thu Jun 05 11:13AM | Report abuseNone of the candidates are good enough. This has been the worst series of the lot. Claire -possibly the best candidate. But too strong a character to be an apprentice.Only good at sales. Lee- Good chap and a grafter. But hiring him - will make cheating on CV acceptable to all younsters who want to make it in life.(cheating is cheating - no matter how small. ) Lees cheating was not minor . Sir Alan dont make such a mistake of hiring this guy for the only reason that it will encourage others to do the same.ie cheat on CVs. Helene: No good for anything. From corporate background? This is precisly Sir Alan does not need. He needs an apprentice. Alex: He is stupid....cannot say anything more than that. Sir Alan will regret firing Shazia ?? (from laundry task) ...think she was the best
