Lucinda 'too zany' for Sir Alan

The Apprentice's Lucinda Ledgerwood

Lucinda lost out on a place in The Apprentice final this week after Sir Alan branded her 'too zany' to work for him and one of the other interviewers dismissed her as a 'nutcase'.

Sure, she was possibly the most eccentric candidate to ever take part in the show and she could have given Carrie Bradshaw a run for her money in the fashion (mi)stakes but that's hardly a reason to rule her out.

So, did she deserve a place in the final? Frankly, no. Firstly, it's become clear over the weeks that she is not a team player. Good team leader, yes - but she struggled to take orders from anyone else and proved to be very disruptive during tasks. Secondly, it did become apparent that she didn't really want the job (well, she did say it!) and it was more likely she took part in the show to to prove she could win it, rather than because she wanted to work for Sir Alan.

In a catastrophic move, she commented to the others outside the interview rooms that she felt that the job wasn't for her. Big mistake - especially when you have a snake like Alex listening. Alex wasted no time in mentioning her shock statement in the boardroom and from then on the writing was on the wall for Lucinda.

Lucinda's firing means that for the first time ever four candidates will take part in the final and, in another first, will work as two pairs - Alex and Helene v Lee and Claire.

So, who do you think will triumph? We think that Lee and Claire could nail this one. He's the grafter and she, most definitely, has the gift of the gab and is an excellent sales person. And with those two in the boardroom, we think that Claire will clinch the title.

What did you think of Lucinda's sacking? Was it fair? Do you think it's a good idea to have four candidates in the final? Who do you think will win? Let us know your thoughts...

I think Lucinda clicked to the fact that to work for Sir Alan the main attributes to The Apprentice job are: to be greedy, stupid, and not answer back; the latter attribute thereby ruling out Clair. As such Lee is a good bet for Sir Alan's pre-requisites.

I cant think why Sugar hasnt sacked the lot.I wouldnt employ any of them.It also doesnt say much for Sugar that he has not already sacked someone for an outrageously dishonest entry on his CVwho cant even spell! Finally, thank goodness I dont work for Sugar. His colleagues are either 'yes' people,ie stooges, or unattractive aggressive/brash individuals.

I wanted Lucinda to win, I am sure she will be grabbed up for a good job. Good luck to Lucinda. Alex I would not like to work with you could not trust him. Lee, Claire and Helena could have learned manners from Lucinda. Sir Alex has left himself with a difficult bunch to pick the best from.

It is a pity that Sir Alan Sugar did not see the potential in Lucinda. She has the knowledge, brains and experience. Never mind the "zaniness" - his corporation could do with some livening up! With her on board, he'll have less time to train and turn her into a valuable member of his team. I cringe on the thought of the remainin 4 applicants. He is left with a liar, a snake, blabber-mouth and an ice-queen that bites. Best of Luck to Sir Alan!

Lucinda had more about her than the others. Can't stand Claire and couldn't work with her. The others aren't much better. None of the remaining four deserve to win.

I got a quick glimpse last night and thought that Alex was a complete knob. He seemed to be a bumbling fool in the interviews and when in the boardroom went straight for the jugular, being rather cruel I thought. If I heard him mention the 'being only 24' line again I was going to throw up, for god sake son stand on your own and not behind your age!

I think this unadulterated cock has run its course. 4 finalists?? Sack the boy Sugar and lets have someone else in the chair. Gordon Ramsay lol - "You can f**k off" would make a change from "You're fired".

Alex has shown himself to be the sneaky ar*e that he really is (again) very unfair of him to turn on Lucinda in the boardroom like that in order to get her out and to cling on to his place when it looked as if Sir Alan was lining him up to be fired - I hope Sir Alan noted that!!!! I am disappointed that Lucinda is out, but at the end of the day she was never going to be his apprentice as she doesnt suit him - he likes raw - rough and ready with a bit of a spikey attitude - basically just like himself! So seeing as I cant have Raef or Lucinda winning then I guess I will have to go with Claire - shes about the only one left that could handle the job competently!
