Lucinda lost out on a place in The Apprentice final this week after Sir Alan branded her 'too zany' to work for him and one of the other interviewers dismissed her as a 'nutcase'.
Sure, she was possibly the most eccentric candidate to ever take part in the show and she could have given Carrie Bradshaw a run for her money in the fashion (mi)stakes but that's hardly a reason to rule her out.
So, did she deserve a place in the final? Frankly, no. Firstly, it's become clear over the weeks that she is not a team player. Good team leader, yes - but she struggled to take orders from anyone else and proved to be very disruptive during tasks. Secondly, it did become apparent that she didn't really want the job (well, she did say it!) and it was more likely she took part in the show to to prove she could win it, rather than because she wanted to work for Sir Alan.
In a catastrophic move, she commented to the others outside the interview rooms that she felt that the job wasn't for her. Big mistake - especially when you have a snake like Alex listening. Alex wasted no time in mentioning her shock statement in the boardroom and from then on the writing was on the wall for Lucinda.
Lucinda's firing means that for the first time ever four candidates will take part in the final and, in another first, will work as two pairs - Alex and Helene v Lee and Claire.
So, who do you think will triumph? We think that Lee and Claire could nail this one. He's the grafter and she, most definitely, has the gift of the gab and is an excellent sales person. And with those two in the boardroom, we think that Claire will clinch the title.
What did you think of Lucinda's sacking? Was it fair? Do you think it's a good idea to have four candidates in the final? Who do you think will win? Let us know your thoughts...

In the long haul I suppose it was the right decision to sack Lucinda. Great personality, but not a team player, more like a team leader, not what Sir Alan is looking for I am sure. I think Clare will need to be kept hold off with a very strong lead, if she is left to roam, I think Sir Alan could have a person who is out of control on his hands. Lee should not get it, as he has been found out about telling a little white lie on his CV, what else has he lied about. Helene is too bolshie and Alex is too young, no people experience. So I think that the job is Clares hand down.

I think she has been great throughout the whole program, she stayed true to herself and demonstrated what an intelligent and articulate women she is. As for Alex and what he did to her in the boardroom...well that is hardly surprising considering what a spoilt little bratt he is. I am sure Lucinda will do extremely well in the "real world". I think Clair should win now.

I thought Lucinda was excellent but far too creative for Sir Alan. She did well when she was in charge because she put people in the roles in which they could excel whereas when she was having to work under other they did not seem to grasp this concept at all.

The calibre of all the candidates this year was horribly low but I was delighted to note while watching the analysis of Lucinda's dismissal that she was so wonderfully dignified. If this program is going to continue could they possibly put the candidates through tougher IQ/aptitude tests before they are allowed onto our screens. Serena Potter RUTLAND

Posted by: manu1_amith on Thu Jun 05 11:04AM | Report abuseLee should have been fired! For lying twice! Once on his CV and then in the actual interview! He can't spell and he's an embarresment. Alex is a complete snake. He's boring and it's so obvious that he's got by on his looks so far and nothing else. He collapsed in the interviews. Pathetic. Can't believe they fired the most articulate, intelligent and creative one!

Posted by: lynneowenuk on Thu Jun 05 11:05AM | Report abuseI think Lucinda was a very interesting character in the apprentice and showed good communication skills and leadership as well as good presentation and deterimination. Her personality came over as zany not because she is zany but other people have not broadend their horizons and met people different to themselves. As for the winner i would like to see Lee win because of his background and likeness to his hopefully future employee with the exception of the misfortune to lie on his cv. I am sure give false information is something Sir Alan has never done.
Posted by: maria463 on Thu Jun 05 11:05AM | Report abuseI agree about Alex... a private education doesn't automatically make you bright or successful. And how many times did he have to wheel out the 'I'm only 24' excuse? I though Claire did well and if Sugar doesn't give her a job then Karen Brady wants her so I'd say she's a winner whatever. I was annoyed that Lee lied on his CV.... I hate things like that. If you can't get somewhere without lying then you don't deserve to be there.
