Lucinda lost out on a place in The Apprentice final this week after Sir Alan branded her 'too zany' to work for him and one of the other interviewers dismissed her as a 'nutcase'.
Sure, she was possibly the most eccentric candidate to ever take part in the show and she could have given Carrie Bradshaw a run for her money in the fashion (mi)stakes but that's hardly a reason to rule her out.
So, did she deserve a place in the final? Frankly, no. Firstly, it's become clear over the weeks that she is not a team player. Good team leader, yes - but she struggled to take orders from anyone else and proved to be very disruptive during tasks. Secondly, it did become apparent that she didn't really want the job (well, she did say it!) and it was more likely she took part in the show to to prove she could win it, rather than because she wanted to work for Sir Alan.
In a catastrophic move, she commented to the others outside the interview rooms that she felt that the job wasn't for her. Big mistake - especially when you have a snake like Alex listening. Alex wasted no time in mentioning her shock statement in the boardroom and from then on the writing was on the wall for Lucinda.
Lucinda's firing means that for the first time ever four candidates will take part in the final and, in another first, will work as two pairs - Alex and Helene v Lee and Claire.
So, who do you think will triumph? We think that Lee and Claire could nail this one. He's the grafter and she, most definitely, has the gift of the gab and is an excellent sales person. And with those two in the boardroom, we think that Claire will clinch the title.
What did you think of Lucinda's sacking? Was it fair? Do you think it's a good idea to have four candidates in the final? Who do you think will win? Let us know your thoughts...

None of the candidates are any good, Alex will probably win just because he's young. Although in my opinion he's done nothing special in the whole series apart from prove himself to be extremely sly. Sick of hearing about him being 24 and being privately educated, he's thick as sh*t! He was awful in the interviews yet they all said he was great, the show's become aload of Bullsh*t!
Posted by: sonieyoe on Wed Jun 04 11:18PM | Report abuseI liked quirky Lucinda, but maybe the job isn't really for her. Alex is a snake. He is so insecure that he has to brown out others to make him feel good (see how he smirked everytime Lucinda got a criticism). Ugh!

Posted by: dammynext on Wed Jun 04 11:30PM | Report abuseDespite what Alan Sugar claims, ie that it's all about delivering it's all about fitting in. Lucinda delivered eveyr time she was in charge. The series is called the Aprrentice but surely Mr Grumpy wants somebody who can work on his own initative too? Sir Alan turned out to be easily influenced by some of his so-called advisors who only focused on Lucinda's nutty character rather than her brains.
Posted by: ivanspfi on Wed Jun 04 11:33PM | Report abuseLucinda was and always will be useless. I don't know why they ganged up on Lees spelling. Claire should win, shes like the badger and Sir Alan wants The Badger back.
Posted by: joanna_deakin on Thu Jun 05 07:48AM | Report abuseI couldnt tolerate Alex to attack Lucinda in the boardroom. His personality suck big time. He cannot even withhold his cool during the interviews and crumble down yet he is in the final. SUCKS! He's nothing but a sly fox. He should be fired. I hate to see his face and his nowhere near charming. So what he's 24 and being young? Age is never taken into accounts if you're a GOOD and CAPABLE!
Posted by: mermaid_monster on Thu Jun 05 08:07AM | Report abuseI have tipped Alex and Claire from the start, even tho I can't stand either of them. Sugar should remember that organsiations need a range of personalities not just a bunch of telesales wonks. Look at Nick and Margaret, they're softly spoken and mild-mannered but obviously incredibly good at what they do. Lucinda is in the same mould. I wouldn't be surprised if she was offered a very very good job - someone like Branson would love her. And to say that she would wind Sugar up in half an hour is bizarre - the rest of them would make him violently sick and probably lose him a lot of money.

The same cannot be said about the remaining 4. But they are obviously the type Sir Alan is looking for. Good luck with that Sir Alan!

Posted by: stevepayno on Thu Jun 05 10:58AM | Report abuseI think Lucinda was well dressed in comparison to the other female candidates, she was colourful yes, but who's to say they were fashion mistakes? OK the beret was a bit odd but other than that I thought she was a breath of fresh air! She was an excellent team leader and in my experience at work, good team leaders aren't always good team players but are still successful in their own role. She definitely wouldn't have been good for Sir Alan but I can see why she can command a six figure salary. I think Clare will win as Sir Alan likes her - Alex is a creep and couldn't wait to drop Lucinda in it!
