The BBC is reportedly set to bring back classic series To The Manor Born for a one-off Christmas special. The series, which starred Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles was a massive ratings hit and the final episode, in which the former enemies married, pulled in a record-breaking 24 million viewers in 1981.
Are the BBC right to resurrect this show? Last Christmas saw cult series This Life return for a one-off special which was mauled by both critics and fans of the original series.
Will To The Manor Born suffer a similar fate?

Probably not. If it is as well written as the original series, it has nothing to fear. It has to be better than the "comedy" currently available on abysmal TV
