Second time lucky for dancer

Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson

Teenage breakdancer George Sampson has triumphed in this year's Britain's Got Talent. The 14-year-old had been knocked out in the preliminary stages of last year's contest but came back to snatch top prize this time around.

This is great news. Firstly, there's no way Simon Cowell's record label is going to sell 10 million copies of this worldwide. Secondly, how refreshing to see a TV variety show won by a non-musical act.

12-year-old opera singer Faryl Smith and string quartet Escala, favourites to win this year's series, didn't make the top three. While Andrew Johnston, the bulllied 13-year-old opera singer who made the most headlines, had to settle for third place.

Interestingly, it was another dance act - the highly original Signature - who finished second in the public vote.

Did George deserve to win? Well, there's no doubt that he is an incredibly talented dancer but strip away the special effects (an on-stage rain shower) of his winning performance and we do wonder if the act is really Britain's best new talent sensation.

However, maybe we are just bitter that our personal favourite act (Gin the dog) didn't storm to victory. Let's hope Gin will come back bigger and better next year - perhaps with a Singing In The Rain routine?

What did you think of the final? Did George deserve to win? Who were your favourite acts? Let us know your thoughts...

we thought Andrew Faryl & Escala in that order Although George was good It would be nice to see Andrew & Faryl sing together at some point

I think signature should have won they are really brillant. also, I am not sure that children chould enter this competition it gives false ideas to kids who think with little talent they will be famous. The minimum age should be 16, it is not nice to see little kids trying to be adult, kids grow up too quickly as it is. Also, the dog had better moves than George, Signature and Gin great combo!

How the heck did signature get in the last 2?? Can't believe Faryl didnt get through. Mind you, Cowell wil make sure she has a good career! I saw the pound signs in his eyes!! Well done George though!!

Gin the god should of won. Only act with pure talent, you cant tell a dog to do tricks it takes forever to train it. Unlike dancers. Must of been a fix of some sort. Signature danced the same thing every time, never should of got through the semi's.

I'm glad he won! Escala should have been in the top three. But, I am fed up of singers winning talent act, when its called Britain's got talent, not Britain can sing. So finally an act without singing won and he's an amazing dancer and he deserves to win.
