Teenage breakdancer George Sampson has triumphed in this year's Britain's Got Talent. The 14-year-old had been knocked out in the preliminary stages of last year's contest but came back to snatch top prize this time around.
This is great news. Firstly, there's no way Simon Cowell's record label is going to sell 10 million copies of this worldwide. Secondly, how refreshing to see a TV variety show won by a non-musical act.
12-year-old opera singer Faryl Smith and string quartet Escala, favourites to win this year's series, didn't make the top three. While Andrew Johnston, the bulllied 13-year-old opera singer who made the most headlines, had to settle for third place.
Interestingly, it was another dance act - the highly original Signature - who finished second in the public vote.
Did George deserve to win? Well, there's no doubt that he is an incredibly talented dancer but strip away the special effects (an on-stage rain shower) of his winning performance and we do wonder if the act is really Britain's best new talent sensation.
However, maybe we are just bitter that our personal favourite act (Gin the dog) didn't storm to victory. Let's hope Gin will come back bigger and better next year - perhaps with a Singing In The Rain routine?
What did you think of the final? Did George deserve to win? Who were your favourite acts? Let us know your thoughts...

Andrew Johnston or Faryl Smith are talented young people and either should have had the winning price

Posted by: jakeg3007 on Sun Jun 01 10:51AM | Report abuseGeorge was the best i knew he would win.i think he will do some great performances with his huge talent, plus he's only 14 years old.I found escarla to be a bit boring as they cant do much else with there talent. George deserved to win as he shows his determination and love for what he does. WELL DONE GEORGE!!!!

Posted by: staceyworlddiscos on Sun Jun 01 10:51AM | Report abuseNo, George did not deserve to win. It wasn't talent. The talented were Gin and 14 -year old trainer, Andrew and Faryl. I thought Andrew or Faryl should have won...they are child prodigies!! I hope they will be signed on to a record label.
Posted by: cheryllcheck on Sun Jun 01 10:51AM | Report abuseI think that when winners are decided by a public telephone vote that makes money for the programme the number of votes cast for each act should be announced.
