Teenage breakdancer George Sampson has triumphed in this year's Britain's Got Talent. The 14-year-old had been knocked out in the preliminary stages of last year's contest but came back to snatch top prize this time around.
This is great news. Firstly, there's no way Simon Cowell's record label is going to sell 10 million copies of this worldwide. Secondly, how refreshing to see a TV variety show won by a non-musical act.
12-year-old opera singer Faryl Smith and string quartet Escala, favourites to win this year's series, didn't make the top three. While Andrew Johnston, the bulllied 13-year-old opera singer who made the most headlines, had to settle for third place.
Interestingly, it was another dance act - the highly original Signature - who finished second in the public vote.
Did George deserve to win? Well, there's no doubt that he is an incredibly talented dancer but strip away the special effects (an on-stage rain shower) of his winning performance and we do wonder if the act is really Britain's best new talent sensation.
However, maybe we are just bitter that our personal favourite act (Gin the dog) didn't storm to victory. Let's hope Gin will come back bigger and better next year - perhaps with a Singing In The Rain routine?
What did you think of the final? Did George deserve to win? Who were your favourite acts? Let us know your thoughts...

Posted by: patriot2scotland on Sun Jun 01 10:50AM | Report abuseCome on George, well done and well deserved, i hope he will go further in his life as he deserves it , to come back again and conquer, that takes alot, we are forgetting what age group these people are in ie Andrew and the 12 year old @#$% as well so they got the lives ahead of them and have gifts, my only hope is they take it.
Posted by: marlon.govender on Sun Jun 01 10:50AM | Report abuseI think George deserved to win 100%. He was committed and determined by coming back for a second year, proving it is what he really wanted. The Faryl and Andrew will get a record contract anyway, and Escala will go somewhere, so why not make this @#$% dream come true!!!!

Posted by: gaz02lyn26 on Sun Jun 01 10:51AM | Report abuseI was lucky enough to see George perform in the semi-finals, he was amazing, even if the act I was there to support didn't get through! He totally deserved to win without a doubt, as for the Faryl, Escala and Andrew, they weill have been signed by simon Cowell already, so he'll still be making huge amounts of money from them.
