If you'd have opened your window last night at about 9.55pm you'd have heard the sound of cheering across the land as Michael Sophocles was FINALLY given his marching orders in The Apprentice.
Michael seemed to get 'one last chance' from Sir Alan every single week and managed to wriggle off the hook from all sorts of disastrous tasks - from cheating over the tennis rackets to the kosher chicken debacle!
Last night's boardroom was real edge of the seat stuff - with at one point it looking like Helene was going to be sacked. Sir Alan quite rightly pointed out that we haven't seen much of Helene during the ten weeks of the show - what exactly does she do? His character assassination of her though did feel a bit too harsh - anyone else agree? We do feel that her card has been well and truly marked and it will take a minor miracle if she is not next to go.
And where has it all gone wrong with Lucinda? Only a couple of weeks ago we were rooting for her to win the series but last night she once again seemed more interested in sabotaging the task for team leader Lee than helping out. Her efforts at selling were pitiful and she was preoccupied with getting recognition for her contribution. Can she redeem herself next week?
Lee, Alex and Claire all had a very good week and these three now look like the ones to beat. Claire has really got her act together and is even managing to keep her mouth shut in the boardroom. Could she end up the surprise winner?
What did you think of last night's show? Should Sir Alan have sacked more than one person? Who do you think will win?

Posted by: adm.peters on Wed May 28 12:14PM | Report abuseOh yessss! at last Michael has gone. As for Alex and Lee what bullies they really are does it never occur to them that no everyone can sell or is comfortable with selling and Lucinda only want to see how it was done. Let's face it the boys pushed her out because it was cars and they obviously felt it was there territory. Helene should be next because we only see her standing around as she did last night.
Posted by: l.hardy33 on Wed May 28 12:20PM | Report abuseSeems to me Lucinda and Helene are the more genuine of the remaining group. Lee is scruffy and a totally nasty piece of work. perhaps Sir Alan and he deserve each other. Claire is a bag of wind and has the awful common female back of the nose drawl, with a W at the end of any long word ending in L. eg Hospitaaw. YUK. Alex well what can you say, a bit of a non event. Really if this is the best Britain can come up with to take a top job, little wonder we are in such dire straights economically.. Reminds one of MP's selection time.

Posted by: j_heal89 on Wed May 28 12:27PM | Report abuseLucinda and Helene were the worst last night. I liked Micheal, although he was given enough chances. I'm all for Claire to win, not too keen on Alex and just starting to warm to Lee.
Posted by: randomrainey on Wed May 28 12:27PM | Report abuseLee behaved appallingly towards Lucinda; she asked for help and he wanted to stay and sell with his mate Alex so they could be macho boys together. They also denied that the raffle tickets were her idea. She is not a salesperson and she admitted this and Lee should have helped her more during the day. Thank goodness slimy Michael has gone; he did show some self awareness on the You're Fired programme afterwards though. I also thought Sir Alan was harsh towards Helene and he had no right to comment on her appearance or demeanour - it smacked of sexism.

Posted by: pearson404 on Wed May 28 12:28PM | Report abuseClaire reminds me somewhat of that Ruth Badger, just slightly less obnoxious. I wonder if the reason SAS never hired Ruth was because of her hideous voice and overbearing manner? Since Claire is slightly less odious but seems to have similar tenacity in the tasks, maybe he'll give her a go?
