It was a double-whammy on last week's Apprentice as not one, but two of the candidates were fired in a dramatic boardroom showdown following what should have been called the Headless Kosher Chickens task.
We didn't shed any tears for either cheating, bully Jenny Celerier or sour-faced, ice queen Jennifer Maguire as both of them have had this coming for weeks. How did they manage to survive this far? Actually, how have about 90% of this year's candidates survived so far? It's hardly a vintage year!
Jennifer - the greatest sales person in Europe - was a useless team leader and made mistake after mistake as she struggled to control her team. In the boardroom, her vicious side surfaced once again as she played the blame game and tried to pin her failure on her team-mates. Whiner Alex was also guilting of blaming everyone else - as usual - but again he got off the hook. Why can't Sir Alan see through him?
Meanwhile, the other Jenny, who previously enraged us when she bullied Lucinda, came unstuck last night when she cheated during the task in an attempt to sabotage the other team's result. How on earth did she think she could do this ON CAMERA and then get away with it? Duh!
What really angered us was that Michael, who helped her out in the scam, managed to wriggle himself out of trouble. This was despite his aggressive behaviour in the boardroom (again) and a blatant attempt to gain favour with Sir Alan by playing the Jewish card (thankfully he didn't pull his trousers down to prove it, as was suggested).
Michael is possibly the most arrogant contestant ever to take part - has anyone so useless ever thought so highly of themselves? Margaret quite rightly branded him 'a waste of space'. So why is he still there?
Elsewhere last night, Claire is actually starting to warm on us. Yes, so she does get totally out of control during the tasks but this does make it fun to watch as her teamleader struggles to reign her in. Is it just us, or does she have a look of Kerry Katona about her? You get the impression that she'd be quite a laugh after a few drinks down the pub though we'd pass on having her as a manager as we prefer our back as it is - minus the knives.
Lee succeeded as teamleader but we can't stand all the macho posturing and, in our opinion, anyone who shouts 'C'mon!' each time they succeed in something should be taken outside and shot.
Sir Alan's aide Nick is fast becoming the show's king of the one-liners - "There were Gucci branded underpants everywhere you looked but you don't seriously believe they were the genuine article do you?" he seethed at Alex during one boardroom exchange. Nick also picked up on Sara's success during this task and it was also a good week for Lucinda and Raef. Are these three the dark horses who will make it to the final three?
What did you think of last night's show? Was Sir Alan right to fire both Jennifer and Jenny? Should Michael have been fired too for cheating? Let us know what you think...

(Though I doubt any of the contestants would know to which religion this place refers to!) Insensitive, inept, unscrupulous, cheats, liars and......you could go on! If I were Sir Alan I would seriously look to s@#$%ping the lot and starting again! I wouldn't want to pay this lot £10 let alone £100,000. Imagine turning up to work one morning and finding that one has been appointed as your boss! First thing you'd need is an armour plated back!
Posted by: santanareedy on Thu May 08 12:35PM | Report abuseBest episode of the Apprentice in all four series, bravo to Sir Alan for firing both boardroom @#$%es and well done to Lucinda and Sara in particular for being dignified throughout their weeks of being bullied by the two Jennys. It just shows that class always overcomes yobbishness any day. However, Sir Alan missed a trick and could have come out with the best Apprentice one-liner ever to Jenny - Happy Birthday, You're Fired!
Posted by: jerryfroggett on Thu May 08 12:37PM | Report abuseI am so glad Jenny Celerier was fired as the potential sabotaging of the rackets was absolutley disgraceful!! Michael should have gone also, although Jennifer was team leader i feel, if Sir Alan found it necessary to sack others, he should have fired Michael. Sir Alan will, if not already, have Alex weighed up so his card may already be marked. But i found last night show the best yet......
Posted by: carolihun07 on Thu May 08 12:37PM | Report abuseIt's good TV, but there is no one I would employ - all a waste of space - and so full of themselves - why? There is no substance to anyone yet. Suggest they stop playing and get on with some good commonsense Work!
Posted by: jvwp55 on Thu May 08 12:39PM | Report abuseWhat an entertaining night - Miss Flap-a -lot and Miss Will Young most certainly deserved what was coming to them. Claire is however the most entertaining - just watch her face as the others lay into each other and when Sir Alan has a pop at her colleagues... she's not got the best poker face in the world although she really tries to hide her viciousness. As for winging Alex, well, he's neither here not there for me, not bothered by him at all. Let's hope that Sir Alan has a consistent number of vacancies to keep this program running. Maybe they should think about bringing back the Badger?

Posted by: iloveliverpool1900 on Thu May 08 12:40PM | Report abuseBout time those two got fired, now it's just claire, Micheal and Lee to go. Lee by the way is such a hypocrite. look at the he talked to Sara last week, now he's saying what a good job they done. sware Helene is an actress she looks and sounds like the actress who was in that show No Angels on channel 4.
