Apprentice Week Seven: And Jen There Were None...

The Apprentice's Jennifer Maguire and Jenny Celerier

It was a double-whammy on last week's Apprentice as not one, but two of the candidates were fired in a dramatic boardroom showdown following what should have been called the Headless Kosher Chickens task.

We didn't shed any tears for either cheating, bully Jenny Celerier or sour-faced, ice queen Jennifer Maguire as both of them have had this coming for weeks. How did they manage to survive this far? Actually, how have about 90% of this year's candidates survived so far? It's hardly a vintage year!

Jennifer - the greatest sales person in Europe - was a useless team leader and made mistake after mistake as she struggled to control her team. In the boardroom, her vicious side surfaced once again as she played the blame game and tried to pin her failure on her team-mates. Whiner Alex was also guilting of blaming everyone else - as usual - but again he got off the hook. Why can't Sir Alan see through him?

Meanwhile, the other Jenny, who previously enraged us when she bullied Lucinda, came unstuck last night when she cheated during the task in an attempt to sabotage the other team's result. How on earth did she think she could do this ON CAMERA and then get away with it? Duh!

What really angered us was that Michael, who helped her out in the scam, managed to wriggle himself out of trouble. This was despite his aggressive behaviour in the boardroom (again) and a blatant attempt to gain favour with Sir Alan by playing the Jewish card (thankfully he didn't pull his trousers down to prove it, as was suggested).

Michael is possibly the most arrogant contestant ever to take part - has anyone so useless ever thought so highly of themselves? Margaret quite rightly branded him 'a waste of space'. So why is he still there?

Elsewhere last night, Claire is actually starting to warm on us. Yes, so she does get totally out of control during the tasks but this does make it fun to watch as her teamleader struggles to reign her in. Is it just us, or does she have a look of Kerry Katona about her? You get the impression that she'd be quite a laugh after a few drinks down the pub though we'd pass on having her as a manager as we prefer our back as it is - minus the knives.

Lee succeeded as teamleader but we can't stand all the macho posturing and, in our opinion, anyone who shouts 'C'mon!' each time they succeed in something should be taken outside and shot.

Sir Alan's aide Nick is fast becoming the show's king of the one-liners - "There were Gucci branded underpants everywhere you looked but you don't seriously believe they were the genuine article do you?" he seethed at Alex during one boardroom exchange. Nick also picked up on Sara's success during this task and it was also a good week for Lucinda and Raef. Are these three the dark horses who will make it to the final three?

What did you think of last night's show? Was Sir Alan right to fire both Jennifer and Jenny? Should Michael have been fired too for cheating? Let us know what you think...

What a haragon that Celerier woman is! She must be the nastiest most pretentious contestant there´s ever been - did she seriously believe she could cheat and bully her way to the top? I'm SO glad she's gone...and she's SO ugly too! Now the other Jennifer may well have been ice, but actually she's quite nice to look at! Seriously though, there is TOO much bullying going on in this show. What happened last week was outrageous and did nobody any good. It was disgraceful. If there is one thing worse than a cheating woman, it´s a loud-mouthed bully who picks on women. I say Lucinda for the job, if for no other reason but she wears great hats!

Sir Alan definitely made the right call getting rid of these two bullies! The contestants this year, are a bunch of self obsessed idiots and I guess in the end it will come down to the best of a bad lot. Nothing gets past Sir Alan and he is well aware of everyones talents and weaknesses, I believe this programme promotes him and his business, so the longer it is on the better. If he wasn't so switched on he would not be where he is today.

Michael blatantly played the "Jewish Card" on Sir Alan and it worked. Sir Alan should be ashamed of himself especially as he also ignored the advice of his assistants with regard to Michael. Sir Alan did the recruiting departments of the the PLO and Hamas a power of good last night. Shame on you Sir Alan you Nepotistic pratt!!!!!!!!

I think I laughed most of the way through this show. I don't think there is one contender this series who could organise a hole in a polo. Glad to c the bac of the 2 Jens, Michael's an idiot as are Lee and Alex, Sarah's 2 soft, Helen not versatile enough and Raef is just downright lucky. The only contender who actually acted like a team leader was Lucinda and in normal circumstances would have been able to get the best out of her team. I'd love to know how many "wilnners" still work for Sir Alan and in what positions, he's surely savvy enough to ensure he does'nt have to keep the winners for too long.

Jennifer - seemed always to look the part, but her woeful lack of planning yesterday just outlined her lack of experience, she was always there to criticise others on the show that she has worked with. I was just so surprised at the haphazard way in which she went about the task yesterday, it made me wonder if she has had any top-drawer working experience at all!!! Also her and the others lack of cultural knowledge floored me completely - where have these people been brought up where they are always so insular!!
