BAFTA Snub for Babs

Barbara Windsor as Peggy Mitchell

Barbara Windor is reportedly furious after not being invited along with the EastEnders cast to this year's BAFTA Awards.

The actress, who plays Peggy Mitchell in the BBC soap, and other members of the cast are said to be angry after the show's bosses invited only a few cast members to the event, reports The Sun.

The actors who were involved in the big Christmas storyline got invites, along with Patsy Palmer and Sid Owen (Bianca and Ricky) who only recently returned to the soap after lengthy breaks.

On the night EastEnders lost out to Holby City in the category for Best Continuing Drama so Babs didn't miss that much.

However, as the show's matriarch and arguably its biggest star, it was a shock that she didn't get invited.

Do you think Barbara should have been invited along? What did you think of this year's BAFTAs?

BAFTA ? For heavens sake, it should really stand for Bloody Actors Feteing themselves Again. How much more of the self congratulation and " Celeb " garbage are we expected to have thrust upon us ? Its a job, and not a very dignified or worthy job at that, so get over yourselves

The so called comedy shows on tv today do not hold a candle to shows like Rising Damp Fawlty Towers and as for drama the same goes The Sweeney, The Professionals actors like Martin Shaw, John Thaw etc most so called stars today are up themselves. Most people I know watch all the old shows. Get with it producers give us something good to see.

I have great respect for Barbara Windsor so I regret she wasn't invited - but then - it seems to me that the organisers know who has won otherwise I cannot see why she was left out!!!!!!!!!!

Barbara might have been 'furious' at the time but I should think she's well over it by now & therefore so should we be!!! In the great scheme of things - does it really matter? I think not!
