As The Project Manager it is your responsiility to your employer if you have lost money. That given- Simon did not stand a chance from the outset of this challenge to succeed. In business you are as strong as your weakest link- that given, if all your links are plotting for their own survival against you, hence effectively attempting to get you dismissed,you are in a no win situation. Simon, as a candidate has been most gracious concerning his demise. Even owners of companies get it wrong sometimes. I suggest, Sir Alan reviews his decision. Why not? In business, you make a mistake, you own up to it. Why not let this be a "Test Case". Simon, should be re-instated . Now there is something for Sir Alan to take onboard, which I am certain he will.
