Big Brother's Mikey eats a chilli

Highlights? What highlights we hear you ask. Fair enough, it hasn't been a vintage Big Brother year but there have still been some moments which, while not TV gold, could perhaps be described as TV silver. Here are some of our favourites...

Alex and Chipgate
Were we the only people to think that Alex was a plant during the first couple of weeks of the show? Rarely has a housemate displayed so much aggression and caused so much drama during the opening days of the series. It was finally a row over chips and some threats that followed that led to her expulsion. See ya!

The fake couple/wedding
We had high hopes for this series during the launch show when the fake couple task was sprung on Mario and Stephanie. Although the housemates failed, the task was a hit with us because, ultimately, it led to Steph getting the boot and it also meant that Lisa and Mario had to keep their hands off each other for a few days. Eurgh.

Dennis and spitgate
Janice Battersby lookalike Dennis was removed from the house in week five after spitting in Mohamed's face. The row had started after Dennis smudged some pizza on Jennifer's painting of Stuart - personally we think it improved it - and it quickly escalated causing BB chiefs to cut the live feed from the house. How very Fight Night of them. Dennis hasn't been seen since his exit though rumour has it he is in talks to become Bob Carolgees' new sidekick.

Kat's emotional exit
Dressed in a towelling robe and slippers, Kat looked a sorry state as she left the house. She'd been an early favourite with fans of the series, however, her attention-seeking behaviour and acting up for the cameras quickly irritated her fans and saw her leave before the finale. Some of her fellow housemates were hysterical with grief at her surprise exit. Er, it's only a gameshow people - chill out!

Shocking treatment
Call us sadistic but we loved watching this task where the housemates got the shock of their lives - quite literally - while dressed up like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Goodbye dignity. Dennis and Rachel were supposed to negotiate the course carefully to prevent the other housemates from getting shocks, however, Dennis couldn't resist repeatedly touching the metal and the others screeched in agony. Bliss.

The odd couple
comedy double act Luke and Bex provided plenty of laughs with their cheeky banter. We particularly enjoyed ultra-camp Luke shrieking "Oh Rebecca - nooooooo" each time she took her top off - which was pretty often (see below). We were as shocked as everyone else when the pair of them ended up sharing one of Big Brother's unlikeliest kisses ever.

Bex's boobs
We're used to having at least one contestant drinking too much and baring a bit of flesh but with Bex it felt like she was flashing her bits on a daily basis. Whether it was streaking across the garden for a dare, skinny-dipping in the pool or soaping up and washing the windows with them, there was just no keeping those particular baps in the bread bin! Put 'em away love!

Mikey's feeling hot
And last but not least there was Mikey eating that chilli. The other housemates egged him on when he suggested that he could eat the super hot Scotch Bonnet chilli and they looked on in shock as he happily munched on it and bragged about how he was fine... and then it kicked in! Mikey looked like a cross between Jabba The Hut and the possessed girl from The Exorcist as he gasped for air and stuck his tongue out like a madman! Pure comedy!
